Our delivery service
We have a proven record of getting your books to you on time, all our parcels are sent by couriers. Whether you use our Standard Delivery or Next Day Express service, you can be assured of a reliable and fast service.
You will only pay one delivery cost on each order, regardless of how many books you order. Plus, if you spend over £25, Standard Delivery is free!
Only ordering one book? Single Item Delivery is half price!
We are also delighted to be able to offer special delivery discounts for OAP's, registered disabled, registered carers, foster parents and registered childminders, making it even easier for these customers to enjoy our books.

Free standard delivery on all orders over £25

* Next Day Delivery orders must be placed before MIDDAY and require a signature. Orders will be delivered the next working day - e.g orders placed before midday on a Friday will be delivered on Monday.

Customer concessions
Concessionary rate delivery is available to OAP's, registered disabled, registered carers, foster parents and registered childminders.
If you are entitled to this concessionary rate, please place your next order by post and enclose your pension number or the appropriate claimant's reference number.
All orders placed in the future will automatically have the new rate applied, whether you order by post, telephone, fax or online.
About our delivery times
All of our delivery times are based on the number of working days (Monday to Friday) you should expect to receive your delivery by. Delivery times may vary during our busiest trading periods.
You are able to track all of your orders (including postal and telephone orders) in the Account area of the site.

Delivery Restrictions and Surcharge Areas
Highlands and Islands
Customers in the highlands and islands, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, the Scilly Isles and some areas of Scotland, please be aware that your order will incur a surcharge of £3.50 in addition to the standard postage charge. (Although all orders over £25 are entitled to FREE delivery!) Also, we are very sorry but next day delivery is not available in your area*

Also please note that deliveries to your area may take a little longer than the delivery times advertised.

BFPO
** IMPORTANT: Please see BFPO area for instructions on registering as a BFPO customer. Orders exceeding £100 may be subject to a surcharge. BFPO delivery rates are not eligible for postage discounts or promotions.
We are unable to deliver to:
Hospitals, University campuses, UK based Army/Navy/Air Force bases, PO addresses, Post Offices, shopping centres and pedestrianised work places We are sorry but due to carrier restrictions we are unable to deliver to these addresses.
Overseas delivery
The Book People are unable to offer overseas deliveries, due to cost restrictions imposed by our carriers.

BFPO
The Book People offers a delivery service for BFPO (British Forces Post Office) addresses. This is only available online and is not subject to any postage promotions or discounts. Orders exceeding £100 may be subject to a surcharge. BFPO delivery rates are not eligible for postage discounts or promotions.
IMPORTANT: When registering as a BFPO customer, you must enter your BFPO address, but the postcode MUST be entered as HA4 6DQ (including the space) for your order to be processed. When using postcode look-up, please overwrite the address found with your BFPO address, but keep the postcode as HA4 6DQ.
