The Shaykh Amad al-'Alawi (d. 1934) was one of the most famous Sufi saints of the last century with many followers both in the Middle East and in Europe. On 9 April 1940, the German Armed Forces seized Norway and Denmark. The Chamberlain War Cabinet was caught on the hop and responded with ineptitude. Graham Rhys-Jones' Churchill and the Norway Campaign describes the attempts of naval and military commanders to respond to daily shifts in government policy and to grasp the methods of a new kind of enemy - one which seemed willing to take extraordinary risks. The Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts were humble family cars that ended up as highly successful competition cars, both on the rally stage and the race track. Car by car, this book covers all Ford's works cars. Between 1968 and 1981 the Ford Escort was probably the most successful rally car in the world.
