How to Bake -
Great book - very pleased with my purchase. Makes recipes look "doable" for novices such as myself. Think this is one cookery book that I will actually use & not just look at the pretty pictures!!!

How To Bake -
This is a great book. It has easy-to-follow bread-making recipes that are quite comprehensive. The recipes are explained in a manner that is easily understood. The best cookbook I have bought for a while. Would definitely recommend.

Breadmaking for everyone -
This is the book 'Jeanette' should have been given (see reviews to Paul's other book 'Bread'). This book 'Bake' covers breadmaking in great detail. It covers Ingredients, Techniques, Tools etc, devoting 19 pages, including photographs to those headings. The book then has a further 56 pages detailing 21 types of bread and recipes for making them.
The rest of the book then widens into flavoured breads, sourdoughs (13 types), and sweet breads such as croissants and brioche, biscuits, puddings, cakes, tarts and pies (both sweet and savoury).
It is one of the most comprehensive treaties on breadmaking I have read and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Excellent recipes -
A wide enough range of recipes to satisfy most levels of baking knowledge. Have tried several recipes which came out well, including tea cakes and hot cross buns. Came unstuck with the sourdough though, starter worked well, but didn't manage to produce a lively final dough suitable for baking. Will have to try again sometime....

Brilliant book, bought it a few days ago and I've already made his brownies. Absolutely delicious. Easy to follow recipes. Book is full of exciting recipes and I'll do my best to work through them all. What I also found useful was his tips and techniques for making bread, clearly explaining each step and the reason why we do them. A great book!
