Set against the backdrop of World War I, Soldier Dog is Sam Angus's powerful story of young soldier Stanley and his ever-loyal messenger dog. It's 1917 and in the trenches of France, dog handler Stanley is a boy fighting a man's war. Stanley's dog is so loyal that he will cross no-man's land alone under heavy fire to carry a message that could save countless lives. But this journey is fraught with danger and only the bravest will survive. In this horrendous situation, Stanley soon realises that the loyalty of his dog is the only thing he can rely on. Perfect for fans of War Horse and Michael Morpurgo's other wartime animal stories, Soldier Dog is a warming, sincere and emotional read.

Add reviewAn excellent book. -
This was a fantastic, heart-wrenching and compelling book. It portrays the love and commitment between man and dog that anyone who has owned a canine can appreciate. It also gives an incite into the ravages & the horror of war. If you have read the War Horse, this is a must read.
