I bought this book because I thought it would have some impressive yet practical recipes in (I got this thought from the title, Food for Friends & Family) however I felt let down. The ingredients for one thing, not sure where the everyday person finds some of these ingredients, caviar for example. But the main letdown of this book is the lack of accompanying photographs with each recipe. There aren't many, and I think that is such a fundamental in a cookbook! Most people will see the image of the meal and know straight away from their drooling mouths whether they want to make the recipe or not. The power of a simple photograph! Shame, I think that would have made it more 5 stars.
