Numbers Collection - 3 Book Set (Paperback)
13 years +
Fans of The Hunger Games and Michael Grant's Gone series will immerse themselves into Rachel Ward's Numbers trilogy about Jem, a girl with a very unique gift. Jem can see numbers in people's eyes and those numbers represent the date that person will die. Stunning psychological thrillers for teenagers, these books explore the themes of death and the redemptive power of love against the intense backdrop of terrorism and the extra sensory. Each novel is fast-paced, gripping and full of surprises throughout.

Parents Beware -
My daughter aged 13 has finished the first book and enjoyed it. I have just started reading it myself and am horrified at the language. If I had know about this I would not have bought these books. The story is good but the language is completely unnecessary. We have both read the Hunger Games trilogy which was great. These books are nothing like it I'm afraid. Parents beware.
TBP says: Hi Stephanie, thanks for the feedback. We have taken it on board and there is a line in the online description to state about the language used and how it may be unsuitable for some readers.

I recently bought this series for my daughter. She's only 11 but has the reading age of a 15-year-old so I had hoped these books would keep her entertained. She is only part way through the first book and has commmented on the repeated use of strong language, so I thought I would post a comment to warn others. I was shocked to read another comment warning of the themes in these books. It's quite easy to choose a film suitable for children to watch using the certificate and music carries "Parental Advisory" warnings - why can't we have a similar system to help us choose books?
TBP says: Hi Sue, thanks for the comments. In light of recent feedback, we had added a line to the description stating that some themes in the book may be deemed unsuitable for those below the suggested age range of 13+. We have now highlighted the use of language too. Regards.

Numbers trilogy -
As a parent of someone who is just 13, I was very shocked at the constant bad language throughout the text, and also the themes covered - prostitution and rape by a girl's father. I think there should be a warning on the books - my daughter absolutely the loved the Hunger Games, and we bought these for her based on the write up here. Beware if buying for younger readers.
TBP says: Hi Erica, thanks for the comments and sorry you feel these are unsuitable for your daughter. We have taken your feedback on board and added a note to the description to state these books contain themes that may be deemed unsuitable for certain age groups. Regards.

I love these books, only on the second one but I can't put them down. They are well-written and I recommend them.
