"Great value"

4

Don't be expecting superb quality in print here for the price. I mean, £5 for this amount. Wow! Great value. What I've done is look at the recipes I'm interested in and then made sure they're away from the direct cooking area (buy yourself a recipe book holder - they're great!).

What a fantastic selection of recipes though. My husband and me have loads of recipe books and it was nice to be able to get such a bargain for us both.

"Good read for foodies"

As previously said don't expect this set to be illustrated. However if you are into cooking this set provides some offerings from some of the best food writers, particularly Nigel Slater and Elizabeth David.

"Don't expect pictures"

3

These books are in cheap print and flimsy paper and don't have any pictures. However, there are some great recipes to be had from the books. If precise amounts are what you prefer then the Elizabeth David books will be no use to you. She really just names the ingredients. She is however, very interesting in her descriptions of the origins of the foods. For the money, it is worth it even if you just find half a dozen good recipes to try.
