Description

Our beloved Agatha Raisin is back, this time with a distinctive new livery to appeal to a whole new audience. If you haven't yet discovered the distinctive voice of M.C. Beaton, then you've got a wonderful treat in store for you. (If you have, and are already a devotee, then here's a marvellous opportunity to update your bookshelf and spread the word by sharing these out amongst friends and family!) There are now 20 novels starring Agatha Raisin, and this collection features the first 10 titles. Miss Marple-like in her appeal, this wonderful creation is one of the most enchanting amateur sleuths to star in a murder mystery and M.C. Beaton's storytelling is consistently sharp, witty, and intelligent - we challenge you not to fall instantly under her spell!

5 stars"Fantastic!"

The Agatha Raisin books are wonderful, with many laugh out loud moments. We've all met somebody like her! I've read all the books up to now, and am eagerly awaiting the next ones. Good plots, great characterisations. I love Agathas view of the world, her crushes and her no holds barred statements!

I couldn't put these books down - I can't wait to track down other titles! I can't get enough of her.

5 stars"All of them are brilliant"

I love Agatha Raisin, in fact I've read them all. Occasionally over the series one or two of the books warrants a 4/5 but in the main they are well written. Agatha is just so funny and full of life. Wonderful descriptions of the characters and location add to well-conceived plots.

4 stars"Sunday night TV in book form"

Poor old Agatha, I'm a good 20 years her junior but have the same anxieties she has, I'm just not as rude! MCBeaton has created a witty, enjoyable and sometimes maddening read which is addictive (I've managed to enroll 3 others into my obsession with the series). She just can't write them quick enough. Sunday night TV in book form. Easy and suprisingly quick to read. You'll be lining them up before you've even finished the last one.

5 stars"Time to go to Carsley"

I bought these books on a whim; a bit of a gamble. I am now hooked on Agatha Raisin! A brilliant collection and very good value. They are easy to read, and become compulsive reading. As soon as I put one book down, I was reaching for the next. Enjoy!

5 stars"Addictive reading"

Agatha is addictive! She is quirky, rude and so very, very human you can't help but love her. These books have made me laugh out loud. A gripping, good read. Can't wait for the next set!

5 stars"She who hates to be abbreviated"

Having read 17 of the series, working my way through chronologically with Alexander Mc Call Smith and others in between, I really enjoyed them all. Agatha is very unlike Miss Marple in that she is no 'old maid', in fact quite naughty sometimes. The books are great page turners but the humour makes them very easy reading.

5 stars"Relaxing read"

I love these books, I hope they sell the next 10 as a set soon! We have passed our copies of these on to so many people I needed a new set.
