I bought these on a whim. I had finished and enjoyed the Agatha Raisin series by MC Beaton and was looking for something to fill the gap. This does the job admirably. Pure froth from beginning to end but without the annoying characters of the Agatha Raisin series. This is the sort of book you can get through in a night or in an afternoon on the beach. They don't require a great deal on concentration (which I like) and the stories and characters chug along quite nicely. Classic Beaton, just a pity there isn't more.
