A magical love story based around a mysterious travelling circus in 1886, The Night Circus tells the story of a circus that is constructed entirely in black and white and holds many mysteries in its various tents. The circus seems to cast a spell over its aficionados - the revuers, or dreamers. However, a dangerous game is being played out by two of the young magicians, Celia and Marco, who are forced to test the very limits of their imagination and love, at the behest of their masters. Described as the most original love story since The Time Traveller's Wife, this slice of contemporary fiction will dazzle readers of all ages.

Magical -

The Night Circus is a beautifully crafted and presented book. The hardback copy is definitely worth having as the black spine, artwork and bookmark ribbon make it a thing of beauty. The story is dark but gentle, passionate and dramatic. I loved every page.

"Captivating" -

This is a book that will stay with me for a long time. I was hooked from the first page. It evokes a sense of magic and mystery but it's more than a fantasy novel, it's also a beautiful love story. This is a book which will become a classic.

"Intense!" -

I loved this book, I didn't want it to end! I was hooked instantly and really felt everything the characters were feeling. I had goosebumps through most of it and felt part of this amazing place that Erin describes! I wish the Night Circus was a real place!!

"Enchanting" -

This book is captivating from start to finish; it effortlessly weaves a world of magic and enchantment with a wonderful story of rivalry and romance. It is beautifully presented as a book when you first see it, and the content of its pages never disappoints. Morganstern writes with elegance and maturity, creating a book which is bound to enthrall anyone who reads it.

"A welcome surprise" -

I got this as a birthday present, I wouldn't have picked it myself, but it was brilliant. The world that the author conjours is beautiful and haunting, and the story just flows. There is the fantasy element of course, but the main story is much more than that. I don't want to write any more and give anything away, as one of the best things about this book is that you don't really know what's going on till the end, but fans of Susannah Clarke, or Neil Gaiman, would probably like this. The Night Circus is the type of circus you always wished you could visit, and with this well-written book, you can.
