Death Of A Kingfisher (Hardback)

M. C. Beaton -

A very popular author with the Book People's customers, M. C. Beaton's Death of a Kingfisher is a novel packed with mystery and intrigue. Sleepy Highland village Braikie comes up with a novel solution to bring the tourists in - they reclass a local wood as a fairy glen and the visitors are soon flocking in by the coachload. As soon as the village's luck starts to change, a kingfisher is found hanging from a branch with a noose around its neck and a wave of vandalism threatens to break out. It is up to Macbeth to solve the mystery and his investigation soon turns from mistreatment of birds to murder.

"Escapist reading!" -

If you like M.C. Beaton - Agatha Raisin or Hamish Macbeth, then you will enjoy this book. It is a guaranteed good read! It may not win a prize for worthy literature or be erudite but the characters are believable and the tale told is a good one. Like some or most stories classified as fiction, there's a grain of truth in its pages about human nature, friendships and the way folk live - easy to read and well written.

"Hamish Macbeth Death of a Kingfisher" -

Great book, M.C.Beaton hasn't let her readers down, it doesn't matter whether it is a Hamish MacBeth or Agatha Raisin book, you are always in for a great read.

"Another winner from MC" -

Great to have Hamish back again! With the usual twists and turns, needed to read quickly to get to the end! Then was sorry I had! Always a surprise and lots of murders in this one! Including two of 'my' suspects! I'd be no help to Hamish!
