Disappointing -

I was very disappointed with these. Being such popular books, I assumed that the stories would be good to read. However Henry IS horrid and the storylines just seemed to encourage my son to do the horrid things because Henry does them. He enjoyed them but we couldn't take the behaviour. If you want your child to have morals and learn to be nice to others, DON'T buy these.

My little boy loves them -

Got these as an extra Christmas present for my 6-year-old, who said they were his favourite gift. There are a few joke books but most books have around 4 different stories. My son begs me to read a story to him each night, and it is a lovely time... he likes me to read and joins in reading when he wants to. Will probably get some of the 'early reader' style ones when we have finished, but these have kept him wanting to be read too.....which I think is just as important as reading themselves!

Excellent value for money -

In response to Syd's review, these are the original versions rather than the new 'easy readers', but they are fantastic for beginner readers or to be read aloud (they are long chapters for reading aloud though!).

Not as good as smaller packs -

My child and I found the 6 pack book stories of Horrid Henry better. Many of the stories in this 30 book series set don't seem to be edited, appear to be longer and are not as good. Also there are less pictures and the ones that are present are in black and white.
