"Best recipe book ever!" -
I've been using this book for years now - originally borrowed from the library but had to buy my own copy to give others a chance to borrow. All the recipes work brilliantly. It's also easy to adapt quantities if only cooking for 2 or catering for a larger group. Recipes are straightforward too.

"Comfort food for all" -
I bought this as a little Christmas gift for a friend and nearly kept it for myself so will be ordering one for myself. Everything looks and sounds really yummy - would highly recommend.

"Comfort Food and a lot more!" -
This is a great cookbook! Am now ordering my second copy as first damaged beyond repair in flood. I have (literally) dozens of cookbooks but must use this more than any of the others, from Jamie or Nigel or Nigella, Gordon or Rick etc. Even Delia! It's not about boring stodge either: recipes are often adventurous without being difficult, The chilli con carne for instance is unlike any other I have come across and once made you will never go back to mince!

"Classic Comfort Food for the Winter Ahead" -
For those of you who haven't realised, this book is a collection of recipes previously published in the BBC Good Food Magazines and, as such, all have been thoroughly tested in their kitchens. It is a great collection of all the classic dishes - Shepherd's Pie, fish cakes, chilli con carne, moussaka, toad-in-the-hole, casseroles, pies, pasta dishes, roasts, plus a pud and baking section. There are over 175 recipes split into 7 sections (Rainy Day Snacks and Suppers, Budget Buckers-up, Sunday Uplifters, Sreading Cheer, Meat-free Comforters, Per-up Puds and Buoying Bakes). Although not all recipes have photos of the finished dish, most have and they look delicious - I have picked out several that I will be making - lamb, aubergine and spinach lasagne, Spanish Chicken Casserole, Lamb and Apricot Moussaka and Spanish Style Baked Fish for a start. For this price, you can't go wrong.
