Please bring it back -

Just loved the collection.

Great -

These are fab books I got when they came in the slipcase, I bought both sets 1-3, 4-6 and my son is just about finished the series 4-6 he is 6 years old so I will keep these and start the first levels with my 3-year-old daughter! Bargain, I haven't seen these cheaper elsewhere.

Fantastic value. But no BOX -

Absolutely loved reading the books with my boy. Only one problem - no box... Would these be coming back in a slipcase? Level 4-6 and level 1-3? As I would like to purchase those please, so the books can be kept away securely preventing them from becoming tatty.

TBP says: Hi, unfortunately there are no plans to get this collection in its boxed edition at the present time.

Fantastic value -

I bought these books as this is the series my daughter has been reading at school, I wanted to complement her reading at home and through the summer holidays. What fantastic value, yes a slip would be nice but at this price we really can't grumble. I just wish TBP would get levels 1-3 back in stock so i can purchase for my son.

Great for new readers -

I already had the set Levels 1-3 and the activity books, so it was a natural progression to move onto the next levels. My daughter loves the stories, both to listen to and to begin to read herself. Her friend loves them too, often taking turns to read each page. We once read the entire series in an afternoon together!

Only disappointment was there was no box as has been previously recognised.

Very good -

Really very good books. Fantastic books.

Fantastic value -

My daughter is due to start school this year so bought these books as an introduction. We have only had the books 2 weeks and she is already starting to put letters and sounds together. She can read a couple of words too. They are very child friendly and fun for children. I bought these alongside a phonics set of books and they are the best things I have bought. Great one-to-one time too x

Great for new readers -

The Biff, Chip & Kipper series are used throughout most schools these days and are good to read at home as they are varied enough that there is something for most children to enjoy. I'm not sure that I like them as much as the Read, Write Inc books as I prefer a change in characters, plus that is the system my daughter's school uses so personally if your school uses Read, Write Inc and you can only buy one set I'd recommend that set over this.

I've also been really disappointed with this particular set as a couple of years ago I purchased levels 1-5 in a box set from here. I saw this included level 6 so didn't give it a second thought and purchased it only to find once it arrived that they have obviously altered the levels and level 5 is now level 6 so these are just a duplicate of most that I already have, so a word of warning for anyone who may have already purchased a set using the old banding.

Looks like my daughter's school will be benefitting from my purchase.

Biff and Chip stories -

Disappointed the books came without a box to keep them tidy as in the early levels. Otherwise, great value for money.

No Box -

Also very disappointed to find no box. This was not on the description when I ordered on 1/4/13. My daughter is really enjoying reading the first set at the moment and keeping them all in the nice box. Not sure why these would not also come with a box???

TBP says: Hi Emma, we are sorry for the inconvenience. In light of recent customer feedback, we added a line to the description stating that this collection of books did not come in a box on 3 April. We will make sure in future that we clearly state when our collections are shrink-wrapped.

Emma, 10/04/2013

Great set of books! -

Excellent value for an extensive set of books. Myself and my children particularly like that these books come with extra activities at the end of each story to complete that are relevant to the story and/or text. There is also an extra activity where you can search for different items on each page which ensures that learning is also fun!

Where's the Box? -

Excellent set but nowhere does it state there is no slipcase included.

TBP says: Hi, we have now added a line to the description stating that no slipcase is included.

Fantastic -

Read these stories with my brother 20 years ago and now reading them with my 2-year-old son. At the moment they are the only books he wants to read.

Simply the best -

These are the definitive 'learning to read' books used by primary schools for KS1. They are great - very well written and lovely pictures for 'visual learners'. All 3 of my kids learned to read with Biff and Chip... they are simply a brilliant way to learn to enjoy reading. These sets are a bargain... they are £4 each in Mothercare! I bought the sets so we could dip in and out at home, they have been read to death and now I will pass them on to someone else. Definitely worth having your own set.

Brilliant buy! -

Brilliant gift idea for any child learning to read. I bought this set and the Levels 1-3 set for my niece and nephew. The books were all great, packed neatly into a box. A fantastic gift idea and a precious learning resource. Excellent value for money.

Izz, 14/03/2013

Excellent -

Good value for money.

Fantastic collection -

Had the levels 1-3 before. We bought this now. My son and I love reading it together. Superb value for the price too. Very impressed by TBP's service. Delivered in one day. Recommend the sets and TBP.

With Biff, Chip & Kipper collection -

Love all these books.

Yas, 02/02/2013

Excellent! -

I love these, and more importantly, so do my kids! Incidentally, these are "levels" as opposed to the Oxford Reading Tree school books' "stages". From what I can see, approximate equivalents are:

Level 1 (Getting Ready) = Stage 1-1+Level 2 (Starting to Read) = Stage 2-3Level 3 (Becoming a Reader) = Stage 3-4Level 4 (Building Confidence) = Stage 4-5Level 5 (Reading with Confidence) = Stage 5-7

Worth the money - I got the levels 1-5 books in the past, just need the 6th level!

Biff, Chip & Kipper -

I bought the whole set when he was about 3 years old and I read the books every night for a few months. By the time he was 4, he was able to read them on his own. Brilliant books.

mumof2, 30/11/2012

Great set - good value for money -

I have both of these sets and I think that they are good value for money. They don't quite tie into the Oxford Reading Tree stages/levels for some reason, but many of the 'first stories' titles are the same as the ones used in many schools, even if they are labelled as a slightly different level. Recommended!
