Written by Malala for her peers, this is the girl behind the Nobel Prize-winning icon. Film tie-in edition with HE NAMED ME MALALA, released 6th November, which tells Malala's story from Nobel Peace Prize to netball courts. Malala is the most significant teenager of the twenty first century. She was only ten years old when the Taliban took control of her region. They said music was a crime. They said women weren't allowed to go to the market. They said girls couldn't go to school. Raised in a once-peaceful area of Pakistan transformed by terrorism, Malala was taught to stand up for what she believes. So she fought for her right to be educated. And on 9 October, 2012, she nearly lost her life for the cause. She was shot point-blank on her way home from school. No one expected her to survive. Now she is an international symbol of peaceful protest and the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize winner. This is the remarkable story of a girl who knew from a young age that she wanted to change the world-and did. It will open your eyes to another world and will make you believe in hope, truth, miracles, and the determination of one person to inspire change. 'It's a searing and personal portrait of a young woman who dared to make a difference' PW

Tom really wants to be an explorer. His favourite book is an atlas and he follows adventurers not footballers. His schooldays are spent daydreaming about travelling from Tibet to Timbuktu. A private wish blurted out loud started his freewheeling adventure: I'm going to cycle round the world. His classmates laughed. No one believed him, least of all his teacher. The mountains will be too high! The desert is too hot! Everyone shouted their reasons why his dream was impossible. But it was a funny thing, the more that people told him he couldn't do it, the more Tom found himself wanting to prove them wrong.

Inspiring Artists tells us what it is that makes some famous artists so important and memorable, not only in terms of their artistic legacy, but also as to their impact on the wider world. It explores their life and times through significant pieces of their art, looking at the work in terms of its context, from conflict (Goya), to festivities (Bruegel) to personal struggle (Van Gogh). Each work is also considered in terms of its style, technique and artistic innovation. Leonardo da Vinci was a brilliant inventor, engineer, scientist and architect, but he is most famous for being an artist. His fascination and skill in representing the world around him made him a celebrity during his lifetime and an inspiration to many artists both then and now, from Raphael to Andy Warhol.

One winter's morning, illustrator Barroux was walking down a street in Paris when he made an extraordinary discovery: the diary of a soldier in the First World War. Barroux rescued the diary from the rubbish heap, took the diary back to his studio and subsequently illustrated the soldier's words. The result is a striking graphic novel adaptation of the soldier's moving and powerful account of war.

The diary was discovered along with a medal and a song lyrics in the back of the diary that continue until 1917. But there is no name in the diary - the name on the cover has long faded. He remains the unknown soldier. We just have his words, and it is in his own words and Barroux's extraordinary pictures that his story his told. The diary recounts the first few months of the First World War, from the moment France declares war and mobilisation is announced, until early September 1914.

The diary tells of the long journeys and endless nights; the search for food and wine; the friendships and the courage in the trenches; the sound of gunfire and the pain of swollen feet; and a narrow escape.
