Antony Beever is a military historian who was born on 14 December, 1946. He has published several popular books about World War II and the 20th century in general. He studied at Abberley Hall School in Worcestershire, Winchester College and the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst. He was an officer with the 11th Hussers, leaving the army to pursue a career in writing. The author of many bestsellers (sales totalling over 7 million), his most popular books are Stalingrad and Berlin - The Downfall 1945. He was awarded the Medlicott Medal for services to history by the Historical Association in 2016. Married to writer and biographer Artemis Cooper, his books have been translated into over 30 languages.
