Chelsea’s record goalscorer, Frank Lampard was born on 20 June, 1978 in Romford and also played for West Ham, Chelsea and New York City during his playing career. He was voted England’s Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and earned 106 caps, scoring 29 goals for his country. Awarded an OBE in 2015, Frank won every domestic honour during his successful career.
Frank was inspired to write the Frankie’s Magic Football series as he enjoyed reading books with his two daughters. When they asked him to read them a football story, he decided to invent characters - some based on teammates - who wernt on adventures and played ‘The Beautiful Game’ against knights, pirates and many other unlikely opponents. Frank is very passionate about reading and hopes his tales will inspire a generation of children to love books.
