Hilary Spiers worked in various roles before embarking on a full-time writing career. She worked in law, speech therapy and for the NHS. She has also worked in theatre as an actor, director and playwright.
She has won several national short story competitions and been broadcast on the radio. Hilary likes to write about ordinary women of a certain age who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances and her first novel was 2015's Hester and Harriet.
