James Patterson

Born on 22 March, 1947, James Patterson is the author of the Alex Cross, "Women's Murder Club" and Daniel X books. One of the bestselling authors in the world, he has sold over 300 million copies of his books and was the first writer to sell 1 million eBooks. Many of James' books have been adapted into major films including Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls.

James Patterson previously worked in advertising and was already a bestselling author when he quit to write full time in 1996. He was also the founder of the James Patterson Page Turner Awards and is a keen advocate of children's reading. He founded ReadKiddoRead.com, a website that aims to help parents and teachers choose the right books for their children.
