Jill Tomlinson

The author of The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark, Jill Tomlinson was born in 1931 and died in 1976. She studied journalism and decided she wanted to write for children. She also trained as a opera singer but had to change her career due to having an illness. She was the author of many picture books and short stories based around animals including The Cat Who Wanted to Go Home and The Hen Who Wouldn't Give Up.
