John Dougherty

A Northern Irish children's writer orn in Larne in 1964, John Dougherty is not only a popular children's author, poet and songwriter but he's also appeared on television when his living room was redesigned in a gothic style by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Now living in Gloucestershire, he worked as a teacher before publishing his first book, Zeus on the Loose, in 2004.

Best known for Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face and Jack Slater, John was also the chair of CWIG - the Children's Writers and Illustrators Group from 2013 to 2015.
