Judith Kerr

The author of The Tiger Who Came to Tea and the series of books following Mog the Cat, Judith Kerr was born on 14 June, 1923 in Berlin, Germany and came to Britain with her family in 1933 as they fleed from the Nazis. The Tiger Who Came to Tea was first published in 1968 and is now a bona-fide classic, selling over 5 million copies.

Judith has also written books for older children including When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit and The Other Way Round - both of which told the story of 1930s Germany from a child's perspective. Awarded and OBE in 2012, she lives in Barnes in the same house she has been in since 1962 and has a son and a daughter.
