Born Jim Grant on 29 October, 1954 in Coventry, Jack Reacher author Lee Child chose his pen name after making the decision to pursue a career in writing following redundancy from his work in TV. He chose ‘Lee’ as part of a family joke and ‘Child’ so that his books would sit between Raymond Chandler and Agatha Christie on the shelves of bookshops - exactly where he sees his novels.
Lee Child’s debut novel Killing Floor was a bestseller and won the Anthony Award for Best First Novel. Since then, he has won numerous awards and sold over 100 million copies in 99 countries and 42 languages. Lee Child starts writing a new book on 1 September every year and now lives in New York State. A huge fan of Aston Villa Football Club, he drinks over 30 cups of coffee every day!
After facing what looked like a desperate and certain death in 61 Hours, Jack Reacher returns in Worth Dying For - the kind of explosive thriller only bestselling author Lee Child could write, a heart-racing page-turner that no suspense fan would want to miss. Full of violent confrontation, action and adventure, it is not long before Reacher's life hangs in the balance yet again.
