An American-born Canadian author, Linwood Barclay was born in Connecticut in 1995. Before publishing the worldwide bestseller No Time for Goodbye in 2007, he worked in journalism as a humour columnist for the Toronto Star. Working there from 1993, he took a year-long sabbatical to promote No Time for Goodbye but changed his mind after the novel’s success and became a full-time author. He wrote his last column in 2008.
As well as this critical and commercial success that sold over a million copies, Linwood is famous for his Zack Walker mysteries and detective novels, inspired by his university lecturer Ross Macdonald. He now lives in Oakville, Ontario with his family.
