Margery Allingham

Born on 20 May 1904 in Ealing, Margery Allingham was held in high regard by Agatha Christie and is also one of J.K. Rowling's favourite writers from the 'Golden Age'. An author of detective stories, mysteries and crime fiction, her greatest creation, the gentleman sleuth Albert Campion, is well-known to many readers.

Her most popular novels include The Crime at Black Dudley (her second book and first huge seller; first published in 1929), Death of a Ghost and The Tiger in the Smoke.
