Born on 1 March, 1966 in Wallasey in Cheshire (the Wirral), Paul Hollywood is one of the most famous names in British baking. The son of a bakery proprietor and grandson of a head baker at the Adelphi, Paul worked as a head baker at many hotels and also worked at two resorts in Cyprus as he baked his way to the top.
He had guest appearances on many TV programmes before being invited to become a judge along with Mary Berry on The Great British Bake Off in 2010. This position established his reputation as one of the nation's finest TV judges. He has published many popular baking books focusing on bread and pastries. He lives in Kent and is married to fellow chef and baker Alex Hollywood.
