Philip Ardagh

Known for books including The Grunts, the Grubtown Tales and Eddie Dickens series, as well as his very impressive beard, Philip Ardagh is a very distinctive, talented and hilarious children’s author. A Roald Dahl Funny Prize winner, he has written over 100 books that are packed with weird and wonderful characters.

Before becoming an author, Philip worked at an advertising agency and then as a library assistant. A regular at literary festivals, he also reviews children’s books for the Guardian.
