Simon Scarrow

A popular author of historical fiction, Simon Scarrow was born on 3 October in Lagos, Nigeria and is now based in Norfolk. He worked as a teacher before going into writing and is best known for his Eagle series of military fiction novels set during the Roman era.

He is also the author of Revolution - a series about Wellington and Napoleon. His writing is influenced by the likes of I, Claudius and the epic Roman films he watched while growing up in the 1970s. He is also the author of the Gladiator series and his great love of history shines through in his writing.
