A popular author of historical fiction, Simon Scarrow was born on 3 October in Lagos, Nigeria and is now based in Norfolk. He worked as a teacher before going into writing and is best known for his Eagle series of military fiction novels set during the Roman era.
He is also the author of Revolution - a series about Wellington and Napoleon. His writing is influenced by the likes of I, Claudius and the epic Roman films he watched while growing up in the 1970s.
