Sophie Kinsella

Born Madeleine Townley (and later Madeleine Wickham) in London on 12 December, 1969, Sophie Kinsella specialises in chick-lit and writes light, funny and romantic stories. She published Confessions of a Shopaholic (also known as The Secret Dream World of a Shopaholic) under her pseudonym and it proved so successful, she release subsequent novels under this name.

This book was adapted into a film in 2009 starring Isla Fisher and the author now lives in London. She is married to Henry Wickham, with who she has three sons and worked as a financial journalist before becoming a full-time author.
