Tony Ross

Perhaps best known for being the illustrator of Francesca Simon's Horrid Henry books, Tony Ross is also a very talented children's author in his own right. Born on 10 August, 1938 in London, Tony grew up dreaming of working with horses and ended up going into teaching after working as an art director.

Tony drew cartoons for magazines including Punch during his early career and has actually illustrated more than 800 books for authors including Roald Dahl and Michael Palin. His own stories about The Little Princess started with I Want My Potty in 1986. A popular series covering many first concepts, it has been adapted into a hit animated TV show. Tony now lives in Cheshire.
