Wilbur Smith

Legendary bestselling author Wilbur Smith's writing career has spanned over five decades and 37 books, selling an estimated 132 million novels throughout the world. An iconic wordsmith, he shows no signs of slowing down and at the age of 83, produces at least one book per year.

The African landscape is extremely important to Wilbur and his work. He and his wife live in London but spend between four and five months a year in South Africa at their home in Bishopscourt, which Wilbur has kept for 40-odd years. It looks onto Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch Gardens and it is where he feels most inspired.
