Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. The Book People
Best known for his Poldark series of historical novels set in Cornwall, Winston Graham was born on 30 June 1908 and died on 10 July 2003. From Ross Poldark in 1945 to Bella Poldark in 2002, there were 12 Poldark books published over the course of his lifetime.
Winston Graham also wrote books about the Second World War and the Spanish Armadas but Poldark remains his best-known work, especially after it was adapted into a very popular BBC TV series between 1975 and 1977. While 14 million viewers tuned in to watch it, Winston was less than impressed. The BBC revived their adaptation in 2015 with an all-new cast lead by Aidan Turner in the title role.
