Bedtime Story Competition

Book People's Bedtime Story Competition

Do you know a child between the ages of 5 and 11 who loves to read and write and has an amazing idea for a story that would make a brilliant bedtime picture book? Is there a young aspiring author you know who'd love to see their story illustrated and published as a real book?

Book People, in association with Little Tiger Press and Save the Children UK are on the lookout for any child in the UK who has an incredible bedtime story to tell!

All they need to do is write a 200-800 word story and they could not only win £250 of books from Book People for them, and for their school - but if they're selected as the overall winner, they will see their story brought to life in their very own book, illustrated by the incredible Sara Sanchez and published by Little Tiger Press.

After the closing date, 29 October 2018, our judges (including Alex Gregory and a panel of publishing experts) will choose one winner from each age category. Head judge Alex Gregory will also select an overall winner from the three category winners.

The age categories are:

  • 5-7 years
  • 8-9 years
  • 10-11 years

Category entry is based on the child's age as of 31st Aug 2018.
