Excellent Guide -

This is a brilliant book and I would recommend it to anyone serious about sewing. I have been dressmaking for a few years and there is some stuff in here that I have already learned but there is also loads of things to help me improve my projects and give them a more professional finish. Love the section covering seams as it shows how to neaten seams for all fabrics professionally. Also very useful are the sections on zips and pockets.A really worthwhile investment with lots of practical value!

Essential sewing book -

I've recently started sewing and have bought and searched for a beginner's guide. Though this book is not meant for beginners, it has the most detailed photographs, all step by step, that I have ever seen.It is a monster of a book. I used to search online for ideas on how to sew and alter clothing, but since I got this book it is always the first place I look. And unlike most sewing books, it really does show every single step (it even has sections on sewing button holes in many different ways, or how to sew on a button). However it covers everything about making clothes that I can think of, all sorts of different finishes, hems, collars, skirts. It is a sewing encyclopedia. I definitely recommend it.
