When 17 year old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town. But in spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away - until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car. Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward's coldness. He, and his family, are vampires - and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.

No Title -

These books were unputdownable. I was completely hooked and can't wait for the next one to come out - for anyone as desperate as me, we a forced to wait until next year when book 4 - 'Breaking Dawn' is published. These books rate along with some of the best books I've ever read. Bella moves to Forks to live with her father, a place where it never stops raining. But the rain is no longer on her mind when she spots the mysterious and beautiful Cullens. And it's one of them in particular that takes her interest - Edward Cullen. We soon find out that there's more to Edward than meets the eye, and he's not the only one with secrets. Bella's special 'talent' of managing to be wherever trouble is brings Edward and Bella closer, as he is continuously forced to rescue her, and their romance blossoms, although Edward tries to convince her that she'd be much safer without him. But why? It's not often that you get a book with action and suspense, alongside passionate love and romance. These books bring a completely new twist to vampires, and will bring together readers of Darren Shan type novels and also people who love girl fiction. The characters are so vividly portrayed you feel like you know them and the fantastic storyline pulls you through the book like gravity. Bella, who tells the story, is so easy to relate to and every teenage girl will want to be her. My favourite character is Alice, Edward's sweet but lethal sister, who becomes Bella's best friend and loves dressing her up and holding parties. I would most definitely recommend this book to teen readers and we can look forward to the film which comes out next year. I cannot wait to find out what happens to all the characters in the next book - currently 8 months until it's published! The web is so full of fan sites on these books that you can immediately tell how much of a hit they are with readers both here and in America.

"Breathtaking" -

I loved how the book was just like the film. I had watched the film 1st but it didn't take away the pleasure of reading the book.

"Extraordinary" -

Words cannot describe how good these books are, but if I had to choose a word it would be extraordinary.

"Amazing" -

I only recently got sucked into Twilight about 2 weeks before Eclipse was in cinema's because my mother asked me to go with her. I never thought I'd like it but then I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about and watched New Moon. Then I borrowed all four books from my mother - so far I've read all four, seen the three films and more than once :) I'm going to read the books again but I'm going to buy my own set because I think my mother is going to have heart failure if I borrow her books again! She likes to read them too. But long story short - this series is amazing!
