The winner of the Red House Children's Book Award 2010, Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games trilogy has taken young adult fiction by storm. When Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her sister's place at the 74th Hunger Games, she knows she is unlikely to survive the fight to the death on live TV. Katniss must use all her wits and trust her judgement if she is to stand any chance of returning home to District 12. But with 24 tributes, some of whom are highly trained, can the Girl on Fire burn the brightest? Now adapted into a major film directed by Gary Ross, and starring Jennifer Lawrence, are you ready to let the Games begin?

Gripping -

One of the best books I've read. Once you start reading, you can't put it down! I highly recommend it.

Couldn't put it down! -

I bought 2 sets when it was on offer at £4.99 on the recommendation of my class (Year 7), one to read and one as prizes. Great 'whoops' from those who pulled a copy from the prize bag and I knew it was good when my husband announced he was off to bed at 9.30 one night 'because I need to finish my book'.

"An amazing read" -

I cannot stress enough: "Do not judge a book by its cover". This book is an amazing read. You will not want to put it down until you reach that last page - and even then you'll want to go out and get 'Catching Fire' and 'The Mockingjay' to finish your experience of the Hunger Games. The way Collins explains everything you can almost taste and smell the surroundings. The characters are built up gradually so you get a real feel for them and their different personalities.

''Wow'' -

I have never read a book as brilliant as the Hunger Games. I could never put it down and read it all in 3 days! I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

"Best book ever!" -

Absolutely loved this book. After struggling for a decent fiction book started this and read it so fast that I truly did hunger for more - read the other two books also and just as good. Totally recommended for all young adults and above.
