"Brilliant book" -

I DID buy this from BP and after searching for it for ages and not finding it under £20 was delighted to get it here. The Bread section is particularly wonderful - not a duff recipe in sight and it has transformed our family life by making foolproof homemade bread a weekly reality. One or two glitches on the cakes but overall one of the best recipe books I have ever bought. Also highly recommend his weekly newspaper column (Guardian Saturday).

"Excellent" -

This is the best cookery book I have bought in ages. The recipes are clear and they work, I have hardly put it down since I got it and have never received so many compliments on my baking. I appreciate not only the recipes but the helpful hints and explanatory sections. This man is a genius!

"Fab-u-lous" -

I too didn't buy this from the Book People, but bought it as soon as it appeared. I love Dan Lepard's recipes and outlook and this did not disappoint. I would agree about the pictures but this does not detract from a fabulous book.

"Everything in 1 Book!" -

First of all, I didn't actually buy this from Book People as I had already bought it elsewhere (shame I didn't know BP were going to be stocking it - another time when a preview section would have been useful BP!!). Anyway, what a fantastic book!

It covers everything you could possibly want to bake - Bread, cakes, biscuits, doughnuts, batters, desserts, muffins, whoopies, pastry (sweet and savoury), meringues, puddings - if you can bake it, it's here. Not only does it have great recipes, but it also has sections covering techniques and information on ingredients, plus numerous tips to help you on your way. It is probably one of the most comprehensive baking books I have seen. The only thing some people may not like is that it does not contain pictures of every recipe. I personally don't mind this as I can picture the finished goodies, but I know some people prefer to see what it should look like.Cannot rate it highly enough!!
