SarahT -

Quite frustrated by these books, I like the fact that they are short and colourful, however for me there is not enough repetition of the main words (making it hard work to read) and I cannot understand the use of some language.

For example in "This and That" - Stage 2 books the 3 shop keepers are Mr Chin, Miss Chip and Mrs Ship. Why introduce the concept of "Mr" for such an early reader?? The missing letters of "iste" in the middle of the word "Mr" is completely confusing when learning to read phonetically. Why not keep it simple and stick to first names?????

Great -

Love these sets and would like to order another eight or more sets for my teaching business. However, I have all the lower level stages in sets already, do you have any plans or possibility to order the stages 4 - 6 ones only? Thank you!

Great for 4 years+ -

I absolutely love these books. My son has quickly jumped into the higher "stages". These books are thin, yes, but I think they are specifically designed to be short books in order to hold the child's attention span. Books any longer for a young 4-year-old then become tedious and boring.

The stories are short and great and very often have repeated rhyming words in them to help your child with their reading and language. My son loves looking at the pictures and asks me who, why, what sort of questions. I would definitely recommend these books.

I think they go up to Year 1 (I believe) so great for getting started with your reception child. The pictures are brightly coloured which is attention-holding and the quality of the books are great. I simply saw the name Julia Donaldson and jumped at the chance at getting this jumbo pack for such a fab price, because I find her books fantastic anyway. Thank you, Book People!

These books are very thin (not quite what I expected) -

The description of this book collection says 'Pages Varies' but each book is more like a very thin, flimsy pamphlet containing around 8 to 10 pages. Please update the description and show a photo of the books' spines so customers can see how thin they are.

Thanks for your review

We appreciate you taking the time to post this review. We mention in the description that these books are bite-sized and we will add a further line to state that they are designed as an introduction to phonics and reading. As they are aimed at younger children who are just starting to get to grips with words, the books have a number of pages that will not overwhelm them.

We do not currently have the functionality to show the spines of books but this and inside-looks is something we are currently looking into.
