The beautiful valley of Moonacre is shadowed by the memory of the Moon Princess and the mysterious little white horse. When orphaned Maria Merryweather comes there to stay, she finds herself involved with an ancient feud. She is determined to restore peace and happiness to the whole of Moonacre Valley. And Maria usually gets her own way...This edition of The Little White Horse - winner of the Carnegie Medal in 1946 and since cited by J.K. Rowling as her childhood favourite - is designed as a nostalgic reminder of the original edition with a classic hardback binding.

An absolute gem -

This is my favourite book, I absolutely love it. My Granny first gave me her old copy when I was a teenager and as a 30 something adult I still read it from time to time. It's a beautifully written story that takes you into another world and I cannot wait til my daughter is a bit older so I can share this story with her.

The Little White Horse for Confident Readers - Upper KS 2 -

My 10-year-old daughter adored this book. She says "This book is fascinating to read and takes you into an enchanting world. The book is too good to be true." She is an avid reader, very confident, and likes Harry Potter etc. She was intrigued to read the history of the author. She insisted on watching the film (The Secrets of Moonacre) of the book after reading it - she was so taken with the story.
