Take a 12,000-year walk through history with Steve Noon's award-winning A Street Through Time.

Beautiful and absorbing illustrations bring fourteen key periods in history to life in this wonderfully informative book. Children aged 7 and over will be fascinated as they watch the street change as buildings go up and come down; and they will also have the chance to learn about how people lived in years gone by.

They can even search and locate the objects that have survived throughout the ages! A Street Through Time shows people at work, war and play and is sure to be returned to again and again as children (and adults!) spot new details every time.

Reader review: A Street Through Time - Hardback - 9781409382225

This book is fantastic. It tells the history of a street in England from Stone Age to today! The pictures in this book are very detailed as they show what people ate, dressed like, what sort of homes they lived in, how they lived and also what sort of jobs people had to do. This street starts to look great in the Roman times (100ce) but then gets destroyed during the time of the Invaders. I have learnt lots about the history of this typical street from 10000 b.c.e to today from all the useful information contained in it. This book makes me realise just how lucky I am to live today. I rate this book an amazing 5/5!

Great book for all ages! -

My daughter, aged 8, think this is very fascinating, and although she does not always understand why the changes happened, can clearly see that they did happen... ie the Romans built big buildings and later on they became ruins. I personally also really like looking in this book... One of those that you can pick up again and again and comeback to for more and more info!

History-loving son -

If you have a mini historian - ours is 6 - then this book will delight. Big colourful detailed pages to pour over with facts and discussion points, but a thin book so nice and light for reading in bed. Not to be confused with flimsy, this is a quality book which will be on the go for years!

"A Street Through Time" -

I bought this book for my now 12-year-old son a few years ago and he really enjoyed it. It is a really good insight of a street through the ages. I have just asked my son his opinion and he said "A brilliant book, very educational". I would definitely recommend it.
