Superb, a great study aid! -

A must-have for parents of children in primary school! This is a great aid to the jolly phonics learning system. Learning the S,A,T,P,I,N said phonetically is straightforward, which this book covers, however it is particularly good for the long vowels -ai, -ay etc which can be glossed over very easily. A valuable tool for reinforcing the phonics system.

Disappointed - it's just word lists -

I was disappointed by this book. I assumed that this would be like a dictionary but arranged phonetically rather than alphabetically which I thought would be very useful for my year 1 son. However, it is just lists of words arranged via phonics with a few illustrations. Therefore, your child can use the book to check how to spell words but that is it! There are no meanings given for any of the words. To be fair, it doesn't say it is a dictionary but I just expected that a book that shows you how to spell words would be a dictionary!
