The Gruffalo has become one of the most-loved children's characters of all time and this 10-CD collection brings him, and many of his equally brilliant friends from Julia Donaldson's collection of books, to life in audio format.

Perfect for long journeys and for keeping children entertained whatever the weather, among those delivering the soothing, rhyming stories are Imelda Staunton, Alexander Armstrong and even Julia Donaldson herself!

A Squash and a Squeeze is a charming story; while Room on the Broom is hilarious; and The Snail and the Whale is quite rightly regarded as a children's classic. There is even The Gruffalo Song and Other Songs included, a CD which contains some of Julia's very own fun-filled action songs for children aged 3 and over.

Excellent -

I bought this for my son's third birthday and he loves it. I especially like the songs accompanying the stories! Worth every penny.

Great stories, annoying voice -

We love Julia Donaldson's books & we're excited to play these in a long car journey. Unfortunately the female reader's voice was hard to bear, high pitched and screechy at times. The children didn't seem to mind but the adults found it hard going. If it was just one story that would be fine but she reads a few and sings the songs too. Ow my ears!

Great stories made annoying. -

These are great stories and the children really like them but this collection is ruined as most are narrated by Imelda Staunton (who I like as an actress).Unfortunately her narrative and character voices are as ear piercing as chalk on a blackboard which makes listening to them very painful and stressful for adults. Just when you think Hooray a change of voice. A story by Alexander Armstrong. It is then followed by songs sung by Imelada which are even more grating. I was extremely disappointed.

Perfect! -

These will quieten any unruly children in a car. My kids absolutely love The Troll the most, signing alongside the CD. Makes me smile.

The stories are well read and are very funny. Highly recommended.
