The Allotment Planner -

Whilst this book does contain some interesting bits of information such as building a raised bed or growing hers, it is not what you expect it to be based on the description. I hoped for a month-by-month planner of how to look after my veg patch. This book does not give that. It does tell you how to have a party on your allotment and suggests declaring your allotments a free state or camping on your plot. So if you are looking for something a little alternative this could be it. If you are looking for practical advice this is definitely not it!

Total waste of money -

It states more than 200 ways to enjoy your plot... as long as you're not after actual gardening advice!

A complete waste of money.

Humorous it might be, but I was actually after a month-by-month guide for an allotment. There are just under 300 pages in this book, there are probably about ten pages that contain anything that could be classed as actual advice - the rest of the book is the writing of a mad man.

Do not waste your time or money on this drivel.

The Allotment Planner -

An amusing and refreshing look at allotment gardening. This is far from the usual planner, of which there are many, but rather an offbeat guide to the lighter side of management of your plot. A most enjoyable read for gardeners and non-gardeners alike.

Not your usual allotment book -

Most gardening info can be got off the internet these days so it takes something original to get me to buy a gardening book. Allotment Planner has 200 ideas to do other stuff on your plot. Some are brillaint, guerilla garlanding, camping and some are not so good - is he serious about concreting it over to park your car? But it's overall entertaining and inspirational. Just don't expect a boring run through of what to plant when.

Rubbish -

This is just not what you expect. It gives the impression of being a methodical planner where you'd find a month-by-month straightforward guide and reminder of what to sow, what to treat and what to propagate in your garden. Perhaps in a table form so you can see at a glance what needs doing on your plot, quickly and easily before then delving into more detail as needed. It doesn't do any of that. It's just a novelty hardback with lots of photos and useless topics, like why not try topiary or giant vegetables. Even the note-making pages are split up with photo pages in between so you have to go to more that one set of pages to make and find your own notes. Complete waste of money for the serious gardener and misleading and unhelpful for the keen gardener.
