I have been making bread at home for years and have a selection of favorite recipes that I have used for years, not anymore! This book is brilliant, written by a home baker for a home baker, with easy-to-understand science to help you understand why things work - or not, whatever the case may be.

My two, sorry, three new favorite recipes that I make on a two-weekly cycle are pretzels, hazelnut and sultana sour dough and revival bread. If you like baking, get this it's fantastic.

Great bread -

I have loved baking cakes etc for years and have always had great success, but baking bread didn't come so easily.... I bought this book and to be honest have only used the first two recipes so far, because they have been such a success haven't ventured into the more time-consuming ones but I definitely will... My 13-year-old son has started now baking bread from this book too and getting equally good results, James's method is fail-proof and definitely worth buying the book, even if you only get as far as the first two recipes lol....

Brilliant Book! -

I love baking, but until this book had little success with bread, even with Paul Hollywood's book. This book has changed that completely! My hubbie now complains if there isn#t homemade bread, but to be honest that's rare. With the help of this book you'll discover how easy and cheap it is to make fantastic bread. James' voice is very friendly and reassuring, it's a lovely book to read as well as bake from. If you fancy making your own bread, don't hesitate, just buy this fabulous book!
