Gomm -

Really misleading! I bought these thinking my 5-and-a-half-year-old who is able to read stage 4+ would enjoy reading them. He can just manage the level 1 book. So disappointed.

Thanks for your review

We appreciate you taking the time to post a review and are disappointed you were unhappy with the age suitability of this collection. These books use DK's Reading Level scheme and gradually progress in difficulty as children make their way through the collection. We will pass your feedback on to the relevant team.

Books are good but not for 5-year-olds -

I bought this set of books for my twins 5 1/2 years thinking they will be able to read it themselves. At least that's what I thought when buying this. Another reviewer had said about reading levels 1x1, 2x2, and many level 3 and 4 books.

My children are Oxford reading Tree level 4. But they can just manage to read level 1 book in this series. Because there is just one book in level 1 they will have to wait a while to read the books by themselves. So if you are reading this review please be warned that levels in this book series does NOT match Oxford Reading Tree levels.

Loved -

Bought these for my 5-year-old and he loves them. He has since turned 6 and still loves them and will read over and over again.

Remember that they are DK levels, which do not correspond at all with ORT. But even if they are too tricky to read alone to start with, Marvel fans will love them to be read to them, and just to look at the pictures throughout the books (as my 4-year-old does!).

Great books.

Mainly reading levels 3-4 -

The set contains 1 book at reading level 1, 2 books at reading level 2, 5 books at reading level 3 and 7 books at reading level 4. Had this been included in the product description, I wouldn't have bought it now. Levels 3-4 are way too hard for a 5 year old.

Thanks for your comments

We're sorry you found that these books were not appropriate for your 5-year-old child. The books have been designed in a way so that children can advance their reading skills as they read them in order. We will add the number of books for each level to the description. Thanks.

Inspired my 8-year-old to read again -

My son had totally lost interest in reading and is such a good reader I didn't want this to continue. I found these books - and because he is superhero-mad - thought they might help.

The best purchase! Some books are lower level than he needs but the stories are great. A must-have for any young superhero!
