Good variety of short stories -

Initially bought, and loved, the large Winnie books which had coloured pictures and longer stories, so was a little disappointed when these arrived to find they were all black and white pictures with shorter, less exciting stories. But overall my 5-year-old still enjoyed them and considering there are 4 stories per book - good value.

Great for little ones to get stuck into -

My 5-year-old is reading her way through these with a little help on some hard words. Four stories to every book so they're not very long which keeps her motivated. Great stories, too - we like the humour!

Not quite right -

I bought these as an end of year gift for my class but it didn't feel quite right for the age group suggested. Not exciting enough to catch the attention. Nothing wrong as such but just more suitable for slightly older children.

Highly recommended -

My daughter, 7, loves these books. Each book contains several short stories that are perfect for bedtime reading. The stories are funny and keep her interested. I'm looking forward to reading them with my younger daughter when she is a little older. Highly recommended.

Nice short stories -

Each book contains four short stories in it, 64 stories in total. Is perfect for reading to younger children who don't like long stories or for that very quick bedtime story.

The books do have black-and-white pictures on nearly every page. I find the stories are good for reading to my 5-year-old son when he wants a story read to him. And they are also good for my 7-year-old daughter when she wants to read a book herself.
