The 10-book Murderous Maths Collection provides possibly the most fun - and ever-so-slightly gruesome - introduction to this tricky subject that children aged 9 and over will ever have...

Presented in the same style of format that has served the Horrible Histories series so well, the books are packed with disgusting facts, incredible tricks and tips to help make the dreaded subject of maths fun and more accessible.

From finding out about Awesome Arithmetricks to discovering The Key to the Universe and creating The Perfect Sausage, these books have cool cartoon characters and perfect puns ('Bangers and maths, anyone?') throughout and are sure to help children and parents get to grips with the mathematical problems they have to solve at school.

Murderous Maths -

My 12-year-old son had these for Christmas and loves them. He's always loved the Horrible Histories and wasn't sure about these when he opened them but he tried them and I see them out in his room all the time. He's already learnt to memorise the numbers for Pi! So pleased I bought them. Highly recommended.

Brilliant for maths lovers and even those who aren't! -

My son adores these books. He got them at 7, and is now 8 and he does love maths. The books are fun and informative and I enjoy reading them too and have (re-)learnt loads!

Some books are fairly easy to understand. But there are one or two which got my head scratching - must have been the algebra (Phantom X). Perhaps one for older readers, though my son seemed to get it!

I think, even if your child doesn't like maths but likes reading, then this is a great book to give them as the explanations can make them see maths in a different way.

My only little niggle is that due to subject overlap, you may find small parts repeated in different books. However, this is such a tiny thing as the whole pack of books is terrifically entertaining and a great bargain as usual from Book People.

Books for fun maths lovers -

DD loves it though she is only aged 8. She doesn't understand all or sometimes complains it does not give enough details. Honestly, a chunk of topics are too challenging for her age (GCSE), but the fun dialogue and illustrations keep her going. She already raced through half of the collections and talked about getting other Murderous Maths books not in this collection to make a complete 'fun maths book collection'.

Would highly recommend them to those who love maths and are willing to explore new concepts.
