Andy and Terry live in the WORLD'S BEST treehouse! It's got a giant catapult, a secret underground laboratory, a tank of man-eating sharks and a marshmallow machine that follows you around and shoots marshmallows into your mouth whenever you're hungry! Just watch out for the sea monkeys, and the monkeys pretending to be sea monkeys, and the giant mutant mermaid sea monster ...Oh, and, whatever you do, don't get trapped in a burp-gas-filled bubble ...! The story follows Andy and Terry's crazy adventures in their treehouse as they try to write a book, and is told through a combination of text and fantastic cartoon-style illustrations.
This is the first chapter book my 6-year-old has read. He got it yesterday, and after reading the opening couple of pages he was hooked. There were points where he could barely keep reading because he was laughing so hard, and I had to enforce lights out at bedtime because he wanted to keep reading.
There are loads of interesting pictures, and lots of humour. He's proud that he's reading a 'proper' book, and told me 'I didn't think I could read those sort of books, but I can!'
Quick, fun and imaginative -
My 7-year-old is devouring these books at speed. With all the illustrations it's a quick read.
A quick fun read -
My 7-year-old has read the first three books of this series and can't wait for the 4th (52 Storey Treehouse). These books are a good size (230+ pages in 13-Storey) but they have plenty of pictures making them fun and easy to read so good for those who are daunted by a long book.
