Two of the most recognisable and talented names in children's books - author Ian Whybrow and Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler - combine to come up with a cracking Christmas story that will delight children.

A lift-the-flap book, it follows Father Christmas as he sets out to deliver the presents but leaves poor Bear in the workshop. Will he be able to make it to Tom's house in time for Christmas morning?

As Bear journeys through icy seas and snowy forests, children will be able to find out if he makes it in time by lifting the flaps. The artwork is striking, the rhymes are funny and the scenarios very silly - it's a cool Christmas book for parents and toddlers to enjoy together.

Less flaps than I was expecting -

I had the Bedtime Bear book a few years ago and loved it as every page had multiple flaps - my children loved seeking out all the hiding places. However I was disappointed that this edition only has one flap per double page spread.

Good fun -

We've had this for a few years now, my daughter still brings me it for bedtime and now she's 9! And it doesn't matter what season it is, as she likes the flaps and the rhythm in the words.

Some of the bits to pull/turn are a little fiddly so it's ideal for an older child who still hankers after pop-up interactive books, wouldn't be suitable for young child on their own.

The pages are really busy so there's lots to look for. Definitely recommend for sharing.
